England captain Joe Root claimed  a 5-wicket haul to bowl out India for 145. The hosts have taken a slender lead of 33 runs. Joe Root came as surprise package and ran through India's lower order. India managed to get a decent lead, on a vicious track, they will have to bat last on this pitch and anything around 100-120 could be extremely challenging. India started the day  at 99 for 3, Leach removed both Rahane and Rohit in quick succession.  The hosts did the same mistake that England did yesterday.

Sundar was way too conservative and one good delivery meant he was dismissed without scoring. Axar tried the other way, looked to be aggressive and collected another duck instead. Ashwin had the right ideas, but he had very little support from the other end. Eventually, he was dismissed for 17.On Day 1, Axar Patel took 6 wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 and Ishant Sharma, playing his 100th Test, picked up 1 as England were bowled out for a measly 112. The winner of this match will take a 2-1 series lead with one match left to play and will keep their chances of qualifying for the World Test Championship final alive..
