The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has arrived in the city of joy Kolkata to attend India's maiden Day/Night Test match at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium. India is taking on Bangladesh in its first-ever pink-ball Test match, seven years after the ICC gave its seal of approval to the format. After watching the first session of the second Test match, the prime minister will return to her place of residence.

The Prime Minister was welcomed by the newly elected BCCI President and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly at the airport. A host of cricketers and other special dignitaries are expected to arrive in the city to witness the historic test. The customary ringing of the Eden Bell will be done by Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal chief minister Mamta Banerjee. Many former cricketers appreciated Ganguly for taking the initiative to host the Day and Night test match in a short notice.
