T20 specialist Ben Laughlin has signed a new two year deal with Brisbane Heat after the former Aussie pacer requested his former franchise to be released to his home state. Laughlin who holds the record for the most wickets in BBL has been replaced by New South Wales seamer Harry Conwoy. The 37-year old is the latest signing by the Darren Lehmann coached side who have signed AB de Villiers and Tom Banton few months back. The news about Laughlin joining the squad was announced on the official Twitter handle of Brisbane Heat.

Former Aussie coach Darren Lehmann welcomed Lauglin, and also applauded the Strikers management for professionally handling the transfer of Laughlin. South Australia High Performance Manager Tim Nielsen was disappointed to see Laughlin leave, but understood the decision. "Ben has been a great bowler for us for a long time so we were disappointed but understood the decision," Nielsen said. "He has two young boys now and wants to spend more time closer to the family home in Noosa." Lauglin who has represented Australia in 5 ODIs and 3 T20s has so far nabbed 95 wickets at an average of 21.55 with an economy of 7.87.
