In major decision Indian Premier League's title sponsors Vivo and the BCCI have suspended their contractual agreement for 2020. Vivo retained the IPL title sponsorship deal in 2017 with a winning bid of INR 2199 crore for five seasons (2018-2022) The latest development is bound to affect the plans of the BCCI. One of the reasons for the exit is believed to be the diplomatic and border tension between India and China. The BCCI is likely to float a tender for the new title sponsors as mandated by its constitution.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and vivo Mobile India Pvt Ltd have decided to suspend their partnership for Indian Premier League in 2020," the press release stated.
