The Mumbai batsman was involved in a volley of words on Twitter with Indian tennis star  Sania Mirza. The whole incident started after Sania Mirza posted a tweet, celebrating 80 weeks at the top of the WTA rankings. What followed was a heated exchange on Twitter and Manjrekar took a cheeky dig at Mirza. Mirza was clearly not amused with the tweet and shot back instantly.

Ravindra Jadeja tweeted out some sharp lines for former India cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar after he called  Jadeja a bits-and-pieces cricketer. I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner," Manjrekar had said. aking cognizance of the remark towards him, Jadeja 'crossed swords' with Manjrekar and came up with a subtle dig on Twitter. "Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar," Jadeja said in his tweet.

Sanjay Manjrekar was on the receiving end of trolls and abuses for his rude and arrogant behaviour towards a senior Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle back in November. Sanjay Manjrekar’s on-air quarrel with Harsha Bhogle was one of the subjects of the Pink Ball Test after a video clip of the two commentators engaged in an unhealthy argument on air spread like wildfire during Day 3 of the Test match between India and Bangladesh. Later the former India batsman, admitted that it was indeed wrong of him to make those unprofessional remarks and he straight away apologised to the producers after that incident.
