In what can be termed as a crucial blow to the Indian team, pace spear head Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of the second test match against New Zealand in Christchurch. As per a report in Cricbuzz the tall fast bowler has been replaced by Umesh Yadav in the X1. According to a source Sharma informed the management of pain in the ankle after bowling in the nets. Meanwhile, Umesh Yadav who has largely played majority of his Tests in India will be under pressure to perform well after India's humiliating loss in the first test. 

Cricket fans slammed the management for messing up Ishant's injury as it was only recently the fast bowler suffered a Grade 3 tear on his right ankle in a domestic game. Ishant's participation in the series was doubtful but the lanky seamer managed to get fit in time. Meanwhile, Ishant is just 3 wickets away from reaching the 300 wicket milestone. The others of have picked 300 or more wickets for India in tests include the likes of Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Zaheer Khan.
