The Bangladesh Cricket Board has allowed Mustafizur Rahman to be a part of the upcoming IPL 2020 auctions. Last year, the BCB had barred the pacer from plying his trade in T20 leagues because of injury concerns. This time around the board however is confident of managing the left-arm pacer's workload as the officials feels the pacer is slowly regaining his lost touch.

Speaking about the same, BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan said, At that point we did not allow him to make him available for franchise-based cricket largely due to his injury. Now he is looking more settled and he is playing for quite some said Akram. "He played in the National Cricket League [first-class competition] and took part in the tour of India. If he can manage things properly then there is very little chance of picking up injury. To be honest we are concerned with his form because he is a very important bowler for us. If he gets a chance to play in the IPL and if he can regain his form by playing there then it would be extremely helpful for us."

Six cricketers from Bangladesh have registerd for the auction including, Tamim Iqbal, Mehidy Hasan, Mustafizur, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah and Taskin Ahmed. Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim has decided to give the IPL a miss the star wicketkeeper batsman went unsold at the auction twice. Moreover, Shakib al hasan will also not be a part of IPL 2020 as the all-rounder has been banned by ICC for two years for failing to approach corrupt practices. The auction is slated to be held on the 19th of December in Kolkata. A total of 713 Indians and 258 overseas players have registered for the auction for just 73 vacant spots.
