CSK's Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis put on a 150-run partnership for the opening wicket as the three time champions defeated Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets. Chennai Super Kings were off to a dream start in pursuit of 179-run target against Kings XI Punjab in Dubai. Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis scored their respective half-centuries and remained unbeaten till the very end. The KXIP bowlers failed to pick any wicket in the first 10 overs which made it difficult for KL Rahul in the field.
Earlier, Kings XI Punjab scored 178/4 in their quota of 20 overs, against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings at Dubai International cricket stadium. KL Rahul (63) remained the top-scorer for KXIP who slammed another half-century this season. Batting first, he stitched a 61-run stand, along with Mayank Agarwal for the first wicket. Earlier, KXIP won the toss and elected to bats first against Chennai Super Kings. They made three big changes to the team for the clash against Chennai Super Kings. They have inducted Mandeep Singh, Harpreet Brar and Chris Jordan in place for Karun Nair, K Gowtham, James Neesham. CSK, on the other hand, are going unchanged.
