The Goa Cricket Association has terminated the contract of tainted cricketer CM Gautam on the wake of his arrest for his alleged role in KPL spot fixing scandal. "Once the news came out, we have terminated his (Gautam's) contract and we have written to BCCI as well regarding this. He has been replaced by Darshan Misal as the captain and we have sent a player Prathamesh as his replacement for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, said Goa Cricket Association secretary Vipul Phadke. 

Gautam who is a first - class veteran has represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League. Gautam previously captained Karnataka in Ranji Trophy and recently shifted to Goa where he was named the captain. The arrest comes close on the heels of the detention of another cricketer Nishant Singh Shekhawat.  On October 26th Bengaluru Blasters bowling coach Vinu Prasad and batsman Vishwanath were arrested in connection with the fixing scandal.
