Three time champions Chennai Super Kings dismal run in the ongoing IPL 2020 continued as the MS Dhoni led yellow brigade slumped to their fourth defeat in the tournament. An excellent over from Sunil Narine, ensured that the game was more or less over for CSK in the 19th over. Earlier during the second innings Shivam Mavi took down Faf du Plessis (17), drawing the first blood for CSK. Kamlesh Nagarkoti then got the hold of Ambati Rayudu (30) in the 13th over. Shane Watson (50) scored second consecutive fifty in the tournament but was trapped in the front by Sunil Narine.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 167 in their quota of 20 overs as Dwayne Bravo remained CSK’s highest wicket-taker as he returned with the magical figures of 3/3. Karn Sharma (2/25), Shardul Thakur (2/28) and Sam Curran (2/26) bowled brilliantly to bundle KKR and claimed 2 wickets apiece. Rahul Tripathi (81) scored the maiden fifty for KKR and remained the top-scorer. While KKR play an unchanged XI, CSK replaced Piyush Chawla with Karn Sharma. CSK are coming into the contest after registering a historic 10-wicket win against Kings XI Punjab. KKR, on the other hand, were handed defeated by Delhi Capitals in a high scoring thriller.
