Former India wicket-keeper Vijay Dahiya has been named the new chief talent scout of Delhi Capitals for IPL 2020. The post was earlier held by Mumbai batsman and former India player Pravin Amre for five years. Dahiya has previously served as the assistant coach of Kolkata Knight Riders and was part of the title winning squad on two ocassions. A shrewd tactician Dahiya has played domestic cricket for Delhi and is well versed with the local talent.
Amre, who was earlier part of Pune Warriors was instrumental in setting up the core of Delhi franchise. It was under the guidance of Amre that players like Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw first emerged on the scene. Meanwhile, Amre on his part said that the decision to part was a mutual one. "We have parted on really amicable terms. I feel that my family needs my time as I have been on road for the last eight years (three with Pune Warriors). I am happy that I have done my part.''
