Bangladesh opener Javed Omar is under the scrutiny of the ICC according to a report published in Cricbuzz. Omar, who was appointed the manager of the women's international team for the last couple of series, went to Australia during the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in the same capacity. It is alleged that he passed on team information. According to the report, he cricket's supreme governing body has requested BCB not to include the former player in any further ICC events after having followed his activities during the tournament.
Yes we've been informed by the ICC to not include him in any future event," a top BCB official confirmed on conditions of anonymity. "To be honest, it is quite disappointing."It is understood that Omar's movements were under constant scrutiny by the ICC officials and after gathering enough evidence against him, the board urged the BCB to exclude him.Omar, who played 40 Test and 59 ODI's during his career, was a solid opening batsman who made his ODI debut for Bangladesh in 1995.
