Vidharbha's Ranji Trophy winning coach Chandrakant Pandit has been named the new coach of Madhya Pradesh. Pandit was Vidarbha's coach for the past three seasons. While they won the Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup back-to-back in the 2017-18 & 2018-19 seasons) under him, the Nagpur-based team finished seventh last season.

Madhya Pradesh , who failed to reach the knockouts of the Ranji Trophy last season (they finished 16th), previously had three coaches simultaneously Harvinder Singh, Sodhi, Devendra Bundela and Abbas Ali."Vidarbha played very well. I've passed on whatever I could to them, and hopefully, the lessons will stay with them. Coaching MP will be a different challenge," Pandit said.
