Australian Test batsman Marnus Labuschagne has signed a two year contract with Glamorgan for 2020 and 2021. Matthew the coach of Glamorgan Maynard was delighted to have Labuschagne onboard, referring to him as a "proper cricket badger." "It's brilliant, he brought a huge amount of energy to the team last year," said Maynard. "He had a huge amount of skill with the bat, with his leg-spin and in the field, as well as his character. He reminded me very much of Viv Richards in terms of his drive, his passion and being a real leader on the field.

The upcoming Australian batsman had a prolific 2019 season with Glamorgan which helped him stake claim in the Ashes squad as a concussion subsitute for Steven Smith. A right-hand batsman Labuschagne scored 1114 runs in 10 matches for the county last season. He is also a handy bowler who would love to be also a part of Austalia's one-day setup. The yellow-brigade is expected to tour England for 3 ODIS in early June. Marnus who seemed excited at the opportunity at hand said, "I'm absolutely rapt to re-sign for Glamorgan and come back to Cardiff for another two years," he said. "I love the city and loved playing for the club. The boys were incredible from day one and I felt part of something special.
