The duo of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow stitched a 160 run stand for the opening wicket laying platform for a huge total. However, after the departure of Warner, Kings XI Punjab bowlers brought their A game to the fore, taking 6 wickets in quick succession. Jonny Bairstow registered his highest score of the season (97) carting KL Rahul's seamers to all parts of the ground.  The Englishmen was ably supported by David Warner as the two notched up their fifth 100-wicket partnership in IPL. 

For Kings it was Ravi Bishnoi who was the pick of the bowlers as the youngster took 3 wickets during the closing stages of the game. Earlier, SRH elected to bat first after winning the toss, both the teams ringed in a few changes to their playing XI. For SRH, Khaleel Ahmed replaced Siddharth Kaul and on the other hand, KXIP, made three big changes. Prabhsimran, Arshdeep and Mujeeb come in for Jordan, Brar and Sarfaraz. With three losses on the trot, KXIP are placed at the bottom with only two points in five matches. While, David Warner's men ranked sixth in the league with only two wins.
