Mickey Arthur is in line to be the next coach of Sri Lankan's men team and if all goes well then the veteran coach might be on board before Sri Lanka's historic Test tour of Pakistan. However, the current head coach Chandika Hathurusingha has not yet been asked to officially put down his papers. We are having discussions with Mickey. We think we will be able to reach an agreement," SLC CEO Ashley de Silva was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Mickey who was instrumental in changing the fortunes of Pakistan cricket in the T20 arena has one ICC trophy under his belt. Keeping in mind theT20 World Cup the scales are highly in favour of Mickey who has earlier coached Australia and South Africa with moderate success. The Sri Lankan Cricket Board has been in search of a suitable candidate for the men's team for a very long time. Mickey was sacked by PCB a few months ago and was replaced by Misbah-ul-Haq as the head coach of the Pakistan team.
