Shane Warne is often regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in cricket history. The former Aussie player who made a quite debut against India in 1992 announced himself on the international stage with a wicket of his first ball in an Ashes Test on June 4, 1993. Shane Keith Warne had just bowled 79-Test veteran Mike Gatting for four runs. Gatting was totally stumped and the image of Gatting getting bowled is still fresh in the memory of cricket fans.
Warne bowled a flighted delivery, that pitched at length way outside the leg stump, and went on to hit the top of off stump. Warne and the Aussies celebrated in joy while Umpire Dickie Bird also looked bewildered. Warne went on to pick up 4 wickets in each innings to help Australia win the Test and eventually the series. Let us relive that magical delivery once again....
