Sanjay Manjrekar has once again landed in trouble for his outspoken tweets as the former India batsman called Piyush Chawla and Ambati Rayudu ‘low profile cricketers’ after both impressed in Chennai Super Kings’ thumping win over Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020-opener. Playing his first match for CSK, Chawla conceded just 21 runs in his four overs and took the important wicket of Rohit Sharma in the powerplay to give his side the much-needed first breakthrough. On the other hand, Rayudu played a stunning knock of 71.He walked out to bat when CSK were reeling at 6 for 2 while chasing 163. The right-handed batsman shared a 115-run stand with Faf du Plessis who remained unbeaten on 58 as CSK chased down the total with four balls remaining. Following the game, Sanjay Manjrekar took to Twitter to praise both the performers. But in doing so, he invited criticism for himself once again by calling them low-profile cricketers.

“So happy for two pretty low profile cricketers Piyush Chawla and Ambati Rayudu. Chawla was sensational with the ball. Bowled the 5th & 16th over too. Rayudu..well…one of the best IPL innings from him based on quality of shots played! Well done CSK!” wrote Manjrekar.  fans were not at all impressed with Sanjay Manjrekar’s choice of words and did not waste any time in slamming him. While some reminded him of Chawla and Rayudu’s contribution for Indian cricket, some even took a dig at his record.Manjrekar was sacked by BCCI in March earlier this year. He wanted to make a comeback for IPL 2020 and also wrote to BCCI to reinstate him in the commentary panel. However, the BCCI was in no mood to bring him back and there was no comeback for Manjrekar. Last year, he was slammed by many for calling India allrounder Ravindra Jadeja bits and pieces cricketer.
