Sourav Ganguly, who was admitted to Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata on Saturday after a mild heart attack is said to be in a stable condition. “He is stable. Angioplasty would be done. We are examining him. He is conscious,” said Dr Saroj Mondal, cardiologist at Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital where Ganguly is being treated. Ganguly’s treatment would be supervised by a panel of three doctors. As Ganguly continues getting monitored by doctors, the cricketing community sent out its wishes for the former India captain, hoping him to make a speedy and healthy recovery. The likes of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane Virender Sehwag and others led a string of good wishes for the former India captain.

Ganguly, 48,was working out at the gym at home on Saturday when he felt unwell. A person close to his family said he felt dizzy and pain in his back following which he was taken to the hospital. “It was there they found out that he had suffered a heart attack,” the person said, requesting anonymity. “Sourav Ganguly is stable haemodynamically. He has received loading doses of dual anti platelets and statin and is undergoing primary angioplasty now,” Dr Rupali Basu, MD & CEO, Woodlands Hospital was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. Ganguly, 48, has been BCCI president since October 2019. His older brother Snehasish, a first-class cricketer and now an administrator at the Cricket Association of Bengal. The BCCI sent out a tweet wishing Ganguly a healthy recovery.
