Pakistan middle order batsman has landed in controversy after he misbehaved during the fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The wicket-keeper batsman is said to have exposed himself and questioning the trainer, "Do you see any fat in the body." A complaint has been filed against the wicket-keeper batsman. Meanwhile, it is reported that PCB is expected to take strict action on Umar for such behaviour.
There is possibility that he could miss out on the next domestic tournament. The outburst was due to Akmal's failiure to clear the fitness test as it hampers his comeback in the national side. Umar who last represented Pakistan against Australia in March 2019 has played 121 ODIs for the national team scoring 3,194 runs with a highest score of 102. The latest controversy is sure to affect his chances of a comeback who was once seen as a bright prospect in the international arena. Umar's elder brother Kamran is also believed to have failed his fitness test at the NCA.
