Former Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson's horrific run at the Indian Premier League continued as the burly opener was yet again dismissed for a low score. The World Cup winner managed just 1 off five balls before being castled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The ball was slightly outside the off stump and the right-handed batsman went for a cut shot. However, he was cramped for room and all he managed was a big inside edge before the ball bounced back onto the off-stump, signaling the end of another disappointing knock from the Australian.
After he was dismissed, Watson did not hide his emotions as he made it clear he was upset by swinging his bat in anger before walking off the field. The CSK star, who has become the man for the big occasion for the team, has failed to deliver so far. In the tournament-opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians, he was out for just 4 although CSK had gone on to win the game. In the following two games against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals respectively, he scored 33 and 14 respectively. CSK ended up losing both the games while chasing as their batting faltered. For some years now, Watson’s problem has been the inswinger that threatens the front leg that he tends to plant across.
