Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has apologized for his racial comments on India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal after the 2011 World hero faced heavy criticism on social media. The former Mumbai Indians and Kings X1 player issued a official statement on Twitter. "This is to clarify that I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, colour, creed or gender. I have gien and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception. I understand that while I was having a conversation with my friends, I was misunderstood, which was unwarranted. However, as a responsible India I want to say that if I have unintentionally hurt anybody's sentiments or feelings, I would like to express regret for the same. My love for India and all its people is eternal," Yuvraj wrote in his statement.

The comments were made while Yuvraj was on an Instagram Live chat with Rohit Sharma. During the session, Chahal barged in - as he has been doing with several other Insta Live conversations during lockdown - and then invited a 'casteist remark' from Yuvi. An FIR was subsequently lodged against the former India all-rounder as several fans criticised the southpaw for his remarks. A written complaint was also made to Hisar police to arrest Yuvraj for the usage of such words. Post his retirement Yuvraj has been hitting the headlines with some of his explosive comments on Indian cricket and players. Check out Yuvraj Singh's Twitter statement here...
