Uttar Pradesh batsman Priyam Garg will lead defending champions India in next year's Under-19 ICC Cricket World Cup to be held in South Africa. The announcement was made by BCCI during the squad announcement meeting held on Sunday. The mega tournament is scheduled to take place from January 17th to February 9th. India will begin their campaign with the match against SriLanka followed by games against Japan and New Zealand.
The 13th edition of the World Cup will be played between 16 teams, the defending champions are placed in Group A with first-time qualifier Japan New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The top two teams from each group will then qualify for the Super League stage. Meanwhile, the India U-19 will travel to South Africa for 3 ODIs against South Africa.
