South Africa star Rassie van der Dussen has joined the Rajasthan Royals team as Ben Stokes’ replacement. The SA cricketer is currently completing his mandatory 7-day quarantine and will join the Royals after that as per a Sportskeeda report. After the departure of Liam Livingstone and Ben Stokes from Rajasthan Royals camp, the team finds themselves in a tricky situation. The Protean has decent international experience behind him, having played in 26 T20Is now. Apart from that he has played 100 another T20s where he has made 3824 runs at an average of 38.62 and a strike-rate of 131.31.
Rassie van der Dussen is in great form at the moment. He was the only batsman who carried South Africa’s batting in the recent ODI and T20I series against Pakistan. He scored 183 runs in two ODIs including a century before amassing 86 runs in a couple of T20 Internationals at an amazing strike-rate of 153.57. The Royals are next scheduled to play against Mumbai Indians on Thursday at the Feroz Shah Kotla. It will take a couple of weeks for the South African to join the team even if he is signed as replacement given the current quarantine rules due to COVID-19. The Rajasthan Royals have struggled this IPL season with only two wins in five games and currently sit at the 7th position on the points table.
