Rob Cassell the former Australian cricketer has been named the new bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals. Rob who played first-class cricket for the Victorian Bushrangers and South Australian Redbacks represented Australia in the 2002 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. He was the assistant head coach and national fast bowling lead of the Ireland men team. Australian-born Cassell joined Cricket Ireland in 2017 after a five-year stint in a similar role with South Australia.
A major figure in the development of the likes of Chadd Sayers, Joe Mennie and Kane Richardson in recent seasons, Cassell was named assistant coach of the Irish team for 3 years. Rob replaces Steffan Jones as the new bowling coach. The team recently announced Andrew McDonald as the new head coach for a term of 3 years.
