On Monday, Aesha Dhawan, the wife of Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan took to Instagram to speak against racism. Shikhar Dhawan’s wife was speaking against a racist comment that was made against the family. The comment was directed against Zorawar, the couple's son who was called black. The comment targeted the Shikhar Dhawan family, and read "Zorabar Son, you are black, you will remain black." In a strong reply, Aesha Dhawan highlighted the comment and questioned why people are concerned about skin colour.

"Amazes me that people are so concerned about skin colour. If a person is brown, black, white or yellow what does it matter? Funny thing to me is that certain people that are Indian have a problem with skin colour when logically and biologically brown skin is very normal in those parts of the world," Aesha wrote. Shikhar and Aesha got married in 2012 and their son Zoravar was born in 2014. After Floyd's death, protests emerged across the globe with people raising their voice against existing racism in different sections of the society. Several sports stars also took to social media to highlight the issue of racism in sports. The likes of Daren Sammy, Chris Gayle, spoke about racism in cricket.
