India opener Shikhar Dhawan who injured his shoulder during the third ODI against Australia in Bengaluru on Sunday is in doubt for the New Zealand tour starting on January 24. The team is all set to leave for New Zealand on Monday morning and Dhawan's presence is unlikely. Dhawan was taken off the field in the fifth over of the game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. He had dived to save an Aaron Finch shot in the cover region, hurting his shoulder. 

The 34-year-old was not in the field for the entire duration of the Australian innings. Dhawan had suffered a thumb fracture during the World Cup in Australia and after returning to the side he sustained a knee injury during the Mushtaq Ali trophy, requiring 27 stitches. The left hander was also hit him on the rib cage while batting by Pat Cummins during the second ODI and was out of the field for the entire duration of the Australian innings. Team India begin there New Zealand tour with a T20 game on January 24th in Auckland.
