March 17 is often considered the darkest days in Indian cricket as Bangladesh created one of the biggest upsets in the history of ODI World Cup when they beat India by 5 wickets in a group game at Port of Spain. India, grouped along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Bermuda were playing their first match of the World Cup and every expected a easy win.  However, the minnows then caused one of the biggest upsets in Indian history by knocking India out of the 2007 World Cup.

The now three big names of Bangladesh cricket Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan turned the game with their fine display of batting. It all started with Tamim. The 19-year-opener, who was a completely unknown entity at the time of him walking out to bat, shook the bowlers with his domineering approach. He dismantled the pacers - Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar and Munaf Patel - with ruthless aggression and his 53-ball 51 ensured India have a forgettable World Cup. His fifty set the platform for both Rahim and Shakib who also scored half-centuries to get Bangladesh home in which was their biggest moment in their sporting history.
