Did Taapsee delete her phone data after NCB probed celebs in Sushant's death?

Taapsee Pannu and shareholders of Phantom films have allegedly deleted data from their phones after NCB probed Bollywood celebrities in Sushant Singh Rajput death. As per a India Today report, mobile data of many shareholders, including Anurag Kashyap, was wiped off. It is suspected that the phone data was deleted after the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) crackdown began on Bollywood personalities after Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The Income-Tax department has also detected income discrepancy by Taapsee Pannu and shareholders of Phantom Films. The I-T department has been conducting searches at their homes and offices. Taapsee Pannu and her company are suspected of income tax evasion of around Rs 25 crore. Taapsee Pannu had accepted around Rs 5 crore in cash. 

Her company is also suspected to be involved in income tax evasion. Taapsee's endorsement deals and film signing amounts are under the I-T scanner. Some of the film signing amount is under crores. The actress's preliminary statement was recorded on March 3. I-T officials suspect that some data had been deleted from her phone. They are taking help from experts to retrieve the data. Taapsee can again be summoned by I-T officials in the coming days. Shareholders of Phantom Films are suspected of income tax evasion of around Rs 600 crore. The shareholders carried out a stake sale of Phantom Films and they didn't pay income tax from the money they generated from that. The I-T officials also suspect that they have created bogus expenditure and fake bills. The company Phantom films showed exaggerated expenditure while it was functioning eventually evading Income Tax. 

Anurag and Taapsee have been filming in Pune for their upcoming sci-fi film Dobaara. So far, the raids have taken place in 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune. The news came to light after ANI confirmed it on their Twitter handle stating, “Income Tax raids underway at the properties of film director Anurag Kashyap and actor Taapsee Pannu in Mumbai: Income Tax Department.” The NCB had in August last year registered two cases related to drugs in connection with the death of Rajput. The NCB had arrested Rhea and Showik in connection with the case besides several other persons in September last year. They are currently out on bail. Sushant was found hanging at his rented duplex flat in a posh society in Bandra. The NCB also questioned several celebrities, including Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh, Karishma Prakash and others in connection with the case.
