Jewellery brand issues clarification, after Salman Khan and sister Alvira accused of 2 crore fraud

Chandigarh police recently issued summons to actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan and seven other people on the complaint of a Manimajra-based businessman, who accused them of Rs 2 crore fraud. The complainant, Arun Gupta, told the police that he had opened a showroom of 'Being Human Jewellery' in Manimajra NAC. And as per the agreement with Style Quotient Private Limited, Mumbai, which had partnered with Being Human, he was to display the company’s jewellery at his showroom with their assistance.Gupta, in his complaint,  claimed that he was told that Salman will be promoting the showroom on his popular reality show Bigg Boss and was also assured that the actor will inaugurate the premises. Following this, he had spent Rs 1 crore on the renovation of the showroom and another Rs 1 crore on buying the stock. However, the same didn't happen and the showroom from where he was asked to collect the stock has been lying locked since February 2020.

The complainant, hence, lodged an FIR against Salman, Alvira Style Quotient Private Limited and others for "cheating and impersonation" The official statement reads, "The current matter is between SQJPL and Modern Jewels alone as neither 'Being Human - The Salman Khan Foundation', Salman Khan, Alvira Khan nor any other representative of the Foundation are parties to the said MOU and they have nothing to do with it. In fact, Mr. Salman Khan is only the owner of the Brand "Being Human" and not even a trustee of the Being Human Foundation. We sincerely request Media houses to ascertain facts with the concerned authorities where the complaint has been registered before publishing or republishing any media article about this matter." Meanwhile, Salman was last seen in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. The action drama also had Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and Randeep Hooda in pivotal roles and released on ZEEPlex and leading DTH platforms on May 13. The film, however, received mixed reviews. On the work front, Salman has a slew of films lined up including Kabhie Eid Kabhi Diwali, Tiger 3 with Katrina Kaif and also in a special role in Shah Rukh Khan's Pathan.
