NCB demands 7-day custody of Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda in drugs case

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager Samuel Miranda on Friday in the alleged drug row, they were produced in court today.The arguments regarding the custody of the two with the NCB is currently going on in the court. According to a ANI tweet, the prosecution is pushing for 7-day custody. According to NCB, some people connected with the case are being summoned and they need 7-days for confrontation purposes. At the same time they have told the court that they have given fresh names and to corroborate the facts, they need these people in remand.

Satish Maneshinde, who is representing Showik, is opposing the NCB remand as no seizures have been made during the raids. So going by the NDPS acts, remand of 6-days cannot be approved by the court. Earlier, in the day, the two were taken to a civic hospital  for medical tests. The NCB has already arrested Zaid Vilatra (21) and Abdel Basit Parihar (23). They are currently in the probe agency’s custody.It is probing the drug angle in this case under criminal sections of the NDPS Act after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) shared with it a report following the cloning of two mobile phones of Rhea Chakraborty. Rajput was found dead at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra on June 14.
