Rangoli Chandel takes a dig at Gully Boy for missing the Oscars

Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel does not mince words when it comes to voicing her opinions on social media. In a latest development, Rangoli has taken a dig at Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy after the film failed to make it to Oscars 2020. Rangoli claimed that the film is copied from Hollywood and it's not an original content like 'Uri' and 'Manikarnika.' 

Taking to her Twitter she wrote, “This film is based on Hollywood film 8 Mile, yahan ke movie mafia chatukar critics ke chaatne se kya hota hai, it’s not original content like Uri and Manikarnika, why Hollywood will give award to a film which is copied from their film ?”

The last Indian film that made it to the final five of the Oscars was Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Lagaan.' The other notable films include, Mother India and Salaam Bombay. The nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards will be announced on 13th January 2020. The 92nd Oscars will be held on February 9, 2020, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood.
