Rapper DMX in vegetative state after drug overdose

Popular rapper DMX  has been  hospitalized following a drug overdose that occurred at his New York home at 11PM, according to TMZ. The outlet also reported that “the overdose triggered a heart attack. ”The “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” singer was rushed to the hospital in White Plains, New York and is currently in the critical care unit. According to information obtained by TMZ sources, the rapper has “some brain activity” and is currently in a “vegetative state” and doctors are cautioning that he may not make it. 

DMX has battled substance abuse for several years and has been in and out of rehab multiple times. Only two years ago, the artist had to cancel his 20th-anniversary tour in order to enroll in a rehab facility to get sober. Back in 2016, a report by Page Six also confirmed how there was another drug overdose incident involving the rapper where he ‘stopped breathing’ and had ‘no pulse’ in a New York parking lot. Fortunately, the medics provided him with an anti-opioid to curb the effect of heroin overdose, according to police reports. DMX was then “semiconscious” as he was rushed to the hospital for a full treatment.
