Rhea Chakraborty’s celebrity lawyer reacts to Bihar CM's demand for CBI probe for Sushant Singh Rajput's case

In the latest bit of development in Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case, Bihar Government has recommended that a CBI investigation be initiated in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Reacting to the same, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, advocate Satish Maneshinde said in a statement, “The Petition Filed by Rhea Chakraborty in SC that Bihar Police had no jurisdiction to investigate the case will continue in SC. There cannot be transfer of a case which had no legal basis for Bihar to get involved. At the most it would be a “Zero FIR” and transferable to Mumbai Police.

The transfer of a case on which they had no jurisdiction to CBI has no legal sanctity. Having realised that Bihar has no jurisdiction this illegal method has been adopted. Otherwise you are interfering in the Federal Structure of our Nation in a back door manner . It touches the very root of the Federal Structure on the basis of which India became a Republic by Union of States.”

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide on June 14 is being investigated by the Mumbai police since nearly a month and recently Bihar police also started a parallel probe. It all started after  the actor’s father, KK Singh filed an FIR citing several allegations against Rhea Chakraborty. The Jalebi actress, released a 20-second video later saying that truth shall prevail and she is not speaking anything about the case on advice of her lawyers. In the clip, she said: "I have an immense faith in God and the judiciary. I believe that I will get justice. Even though a lot of horrible things have been said about me in the electronic media, I will refrain from commenting on the advice of my lawyer as the matter is sub judice."
