Singer Mahesh Kanodia dies after prolonged illness, PM Modi condoles veteran musician's demise

Gujarati film musician and singer Mahesh Kanodia passed away today due to prolonged illness. The ace singer used to represent the Patan constituency of Gujarat and he was a member of BJP. He could sing in 32 singer’s voices including female voices. Reacting to Kanodia's death, PM Modi tweeted saying, "I am saddened by the death of Shri Mahesh Kanodia, a famous musician and singer from Gujarat. Shri Mahesh Kanodia made an important contribution in popularizing Gujarati folk music. I witnessed his impressive performance as a Member of Parliament for a long time." He added that he had spoken to Mahesh Kanodia's brother Hitu Kanodia and expressed his condolences.


 

Gujarati cinema actors expressed their grief on Mahesh Kumar Kanodia's demise with ETimes.  Actor Hemang Dave said, "One of the most pioneer artists of the Gujarati industry let us today Shree Mahesh Kanodia Ji, most versatile actor, and singer of his era left us today my heartfelt condolences to his family members. I think now we had enough of this 2020 with full of bad news. God bless his pious soul." Actor Dharmesh Vyas said, "It's shocking, Mahesh Bhai was not feeling well for a long time, and it's a big loss for the Gujarati industry. I bow to such a respectful virtuous soul. And I pray to God that his brother Naresh Bhai recover soon as we want him in the Gujarati cinema family, also I pray that God gives him strength for such a big loss."
