World Blood Donor Day: Tom Hanks to Zoya Morani celebs who donated blood for Coronavirus vaccine and treatment

Tom Hanks 

Hollywood star Tom Hanks  after his successful recovery from COVID-19 donated his plasma for research and development of coronavirus vaccine. Weeks after his last donation, the actor took to Instagram to share moments after donating plasma.He posted a shot of two bags of plasma on Instagram along with two other photographs showing the process, which includes drawing blood and another more detailed picture of the process. In early March, Hanks and his wife, actress-singer Rita Wilson, had tested positive for Covid-19 while in Australia. They returned home to Los Angeles at the end of March after recovering.

Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson  also donated blood post-recovery to help the scientists find a cure to the contagious virus.Wilson and Hanks were among the first celebrities to confirm their illness. 

Andrea Bocelli

Opera singer Andrea Bocelli confirmed in a video message that he donated blood after his COVID-19 recovery. The singer's coronavirus and  his actress wife Veronica Berti and kids were tested positive for the dangerous virus which has wrecked havoc across the globe.

 

Zoa Morani

Zoa Morani donated her blood for the plasma therapy trials twice at a private hospital in Mumbai.  The actor revealed that her blood donation helped a COVID-19 patient to come out of the ICU. Zoa, her sister Shaza and their father Karim Morani had tested positive for coronavirus in April. The actress had also tweeted about the same on her social media.
