You’ve demolished a middle-class family: Rhea's father reacts on Showik's arrest

Actor Rhea Chakraborty's father Indrajit Chakraborty on Saturday issued a statement condemning the arrest of his 24-year-old son Showik Chakraborty in a probe into allegations of drug abuse surrounding Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput's death in June.Breaking silence over the entire controversy, Rhea Chakraborty’s father Indrajit Chakraborty’s shared with India Today in a statement, congratulating India, stating that his son is arrested and his daughter could be next in line. He also added that a middle class family has been effectively demolished and that for the sake of justice, everything is justified.Rhea’s father Lt Col (retd) Indrajit Chakraborty, was also questioned by the NCB in connection with the case. 

Rhea Chakraborty has also been summoned by the NCB to join the investigation and is likely to appear for questioning on Sunday.Showik Chakraborty was arrested on Friday by the Narcotics Control Bureau or NCB along with Samuel Miranda, Sushant Singh's house manager, and charged with various sections of the anti-drug law. Both have been sent to the agency's custody till Wednesday. Arguing on behalf of Showik Chakraborty before Metropolitan Magistrate Joshi, advocate Satish Maneshinde had stated, “Both Showik and Rhea Chakraborty have never consumed Narcotic / Psychotropic Drugs. They are both ready and willing to take a blood and drug test. Various angles surrounding the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, are being probed by three federal agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the NCB.
