The Goa government will take steps to introduce economic reforms to revive the state's industry and businesses within two months, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after receiving a report of the state government-appointed Economic Revival Committee which was formed in April this year, Sawant also said that several industries in the state were unable to function to full capacity on account of lack of adequate work-force.

"The report has recommended measures to revive the state's economy in the short, medium and long term," Sawant said, after the head of the committee mining magnate Shivanand Salgaocar submitted the report to Goa government.

"Myself, the cabinet ministers and officials will go through it and we will look to implement measures within one and a half to two months," Chief Minister also said.

Sawant said the report had covered multiple industries including mining, MSMEs, tourism, agriculture and suggested ways and means to revive the industries.

Asked to comment as to when tourists would be allowed entry into the state, Sawant said: "At present no decision can be taken on this until June 1. We will gauge situation after June 1 and then take a decision."

Lockdown 4.0 announced by the central government is scheduled to end on May 31.
