George Floyd Death: Police officer Derek Chauvin’s wife seeks divorce after his brutal act

Fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin's wife Kellie Chauvin has  apparently filed for a divorce hours after her husband was charged with  murder of George Flyod. According to  reports, in the media, Kellie Chauvin released a statement through her attorney saying. In a statement issued by her attorney, Kellie Chauvin said she is devastated by the killing of 46-year-old George Floyd, who died earlier this week while in police custody."Her utmost sympathy lies with [Floyd's] family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy," the statement read in part. "While Ms. Chauvin has no children from her current marriage, she respectfully requests that her children, her elder parents, and her extended family be given safety and privacy during this difficult time."

Kellie Chauvin was born in Laos in 1974 during a time of war. In 1977, her family fled to safety in Thailand, where they lived in a refugee camp. sAt least 1,000 protesters gathered Friday night in Oakland at a demonstration billed on social media as a rally to condemn the brutal murder of George Floyd,  an African-American man from Minnesota. The entire episode, has triggered widespread attention across the globe with several international celebrities demanding justice for the deceased. For the unversed, George Floyd was brutally murdered by Derek Chauvin, a police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Monday, May 25, 2020. The video of this whole incident is now being circulated over social media.  In the video, a police officer is seen kneeling and putting all his body weight on George Floyd’s neck.
