Pakistan steps up military activities in PoK

Pakistan has intensified military activities in PoK due to recent tensions between India and Pakistan. The laying of extensive scale landmines at POK along the Line of Control (LoC) is being done on a war footing. Along with this, Pakistan has also started shopping for anti-mining shoes. Sources associated with the intelligence agency said that the Pakistani Army has issued an emergency tender for the purchase of anti-mine shoes. Tenders were submitted till 8:30 AM on May 8. The tender was opened on the same day and asked to supply these goods by 15 May. 

According to sources, Pakistan is laying landmines around LOC at a rapid pace around the military posts. Sources said that Pakistan is laying more landmines in areas from which India has easy access and PoK distance from Indian border is much less. Areas have also been identified from which vehicles can be easily moved. It includes areas of Rajori, Poonch, Baramulla, Bandipora and the other side of Kupwara district. Pakistan will provide anti-mine shoes to its troops during patrolling in these areas so as to minimize any loss of life. Many people have also lost their lives in PoK in the landmines laid by Pakistan.
