The Burj Khalifa in Dubai lit up with the message Eid Takbeer to celebrate Eid Al Adha. The Arab nations are celebrating Eid on Thursday while India observes Eid al Adha on Friday 31 July. The Burj Khalifa will stay lit from Thursday night until Sunday after Ishaa prayers, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai announced on Thursday.
“IACAD sends its sincere appreciation and blessings to the leadership and the people of the UAE, the residents and to the Arab and Islamic nations, calling on Allah Almighty to perpetuate health, wellness, security, safety and peace,” it said in a statement sent to Gulf News. Residents in the UAE are enjoying a four-day holiday for Eid Al Adha, starting today until Sunday. Work will resume on Monday.
