Big news! COVID-19: Maha govt postpones medical exams in state

The number of corona patients in the country is increasing day by day. The rapid growth of covid cases has become a cause for concern and over the last 10 days, more than 1 lakh corona patients have been found in the country every day. The number of new coronavirus cases in India hit a record daily high with 2,00,739 infections in the last 24 hours pushing the total tally of cases to 1,40,74,564, while the active cases are 14,71,877, according to the Union Health Ministry data. 

Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh has informed that the government has been decided to postpone the examinations of medical students to be conducted by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences from April 19 after discussing with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The exam will now be held in June and the detailed schedule of the exam will be announced by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.

Discussions were also held with his Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat, Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope and Maharashtra State President Nana Patole about postponing the exam, Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh said.

Recently the state government postponed class 10 & 12 board exams that were scheduled to be held in April-May.
