The coronavirus situation in the state has become critical and 60 per cent of the country's patients are found in Maharashtra alone. This has prompted the central government to take immediate and drastic measures. Now, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday has called for an emergency meeting of senior officials and some ministers.

The second wave of corona has started in the state. On Wednesday, 35,871 new corona patients were reported in the country. Of these, more than 23,000 patients are from Maharashtra alone.
There were 84 deaths.

Now the total number of corona victims in the state has reached 23,70,507 and the number of victims has reached 53,080. At present, 1,52,760 patients are undergoing treatment in the state, according to the Public Health Department.

The CM is likely to take a big decision to curb the growing number of corona cases. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had alleged that there was confusion as to why 56 per cent corona vaccine was not used in the state. Talking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that the state has enough stocks of vaccines for 10 days. He also demanded more vaccines.

It is being said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has called a meeting today on the issue of shortage of corona vaccine in the state. If vaccination is to be increased, the vaccine will be needed in large quantities. This is likely to be reviewed in today's meeting.
