ED raids ex-HM Anil Deshmukh's house in money laundering case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) early Friday conducted raids at former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's residence in Nagpur in a money laundering case. ED officials arrived at Anil Deshmukh's house at 8 am. According to the High Court verdict, the ED has started an inquiry into Anil Deshmukh. It is said that the raid was carried out pertaining to the allegations of corruption levelled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh against Deshmukh in March this year.

It is noteworthy that security guards of the Central Police Force have also been deployed outside Anil Deshmukh's house since this morning. On Friday morning, five ED officials arrived at Anil Deshmukh's residence. Deputy Commissioner of Police Raju Bhujbal was also questioned by the ED on Thursday. After that, ED has raided Anil Deshmukh's house today. Meanwhile, it is learned that Anil Deshmukh is not at home at present and is on tour. Deshmukh is in a family home.

Earlier in May, ED officials raided Anil Deshmukh's house. It was learned that important documents were seized.
