Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to reject 12 names recommended by MVA govt for legislative council seat nominations?

The Maharashtra Cabinet last week recommended 12 names comprising four each from Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress for their nomination in the legislative council from the Governor’s quota.

The three parties submitted respective names in separate sealed envelopes to the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as they decided not to disclose them at this moment.

While everyone is curious about who will be appointed to the 12 governor-appointed seats in the Legislative Council. BJP state president Chandrakant Patil told Vinay Kore that Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari will reject the recommendation of 12 names for legislative council made by the Mahavikas Aghadi government, revealed
State Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif. 

This information was given by Hasan Mushrif at a press conference held in Kolhapur today. In April, the term of 12 legislators nominated by the government in the state council will expire. The list of recommendations of these 12 names will be sent to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari by the Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

However, BJP state president MLA Chandrakant Patil informed Vinay Kore that the recommendation would be rejected by the BJP-appointed governor, said Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif at a press conference.

The Governor may appoint persons to the Legislative Council who are experts in the fields of arts, literature, science, the co-operative movement and social work, or persons with actual work experience.
