Maharashtra: As covid cases decline in state, candidates demand to conduct MPSC exams

The covid situation in Maharashtra is slightly under control now as the case have started declining. Therefore, the government should take a decision on the delayed MPSC exams as soon as possible. Candidates are also demanding early announcement of the date of MPSC exams, which have been postponed due to student safety concerns. The joint pre-examination on April 11 was postponed as per the demand of Group B students. The MPSC Student Rights Association has demanded that priority should be given to planning and taking the exam.

The MPSC exams were postponed for the safety of the candidates when the state was hit by second covid wave and the case were surging. However, now that the Corona situation is under control, the government is expected to take a decision on the exams, said Mahesh Bade, a member of the association. He said that the commission was also preparing for the examination to be conducted in a safe environment. Age factor is a big concern in these exams and it is being postponed, leading to building fear in candidateds of disqualification from the exams.
He also said that candidates have to face various reasons like mental stress, family responsibilities, financial stress, social responsibilities.
