Maharashtra Governor expresses displeasure over handling of Kangana's incident by Thackeray govt

The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation partly demolished Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's Bandra office on Wednesday. The demolition was later stayed by Bombay High Court.

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has expressed his displeasure over the BMC's demolition move and handling of the issue by the Uddhav Thackeray government. 

As per sources, Governor has summoned Ajoy Mehta, Principal Advisor to CM, citing displeasure over BMC's move to demolish Kangana'ss office. The Governor is expected to make a report and submit it to the Centre, sources added.

Koshyari and CM Thackeray have had a history of the difference of opinions over multiple issues. Recently the CM and governor had difference of opinion on the conduct of final years exams amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

BMC's action in partly demolishing Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's office received flak from various quarters, including ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) partners Nationalist Congress Party, Congress, and the opposition BJP on Wednesday.
