Mumbai: Firefighting operation continues at godowns in Mankhurd

The fire brigade has not yet been able to control the blaze that broke out at a scrap godown in suburban Mankhurdat Mandala in Mumbai on Friday afternoon. But there was no report of any injury to anyone so far, officials said. The incident occurred in Mandala area around 2.45 pm on Friday, they said.

Mumbai Fire Brigade is trying its best to extinguish the fire."The blaze erupted in a scrap material godown. It is a ''level-3'' (major) fire. 15 fire engines and as many tankers are currently engaged in the firefighting operation," a fire brigade official said. In addition, several water tankers, 11 jetties and ambulances are also present

"There is no report of injury to anyone so far," he said, adding that the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
