Mumbai Shocker: School Watchman Rapes 4-Year-Old Student in Kandivali; Arrested

More than 200 people gathered outside a Kandivali preschool to protest the school administration's negligence over the alleged sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl by a 40-year-old school peon. The parents of the survivor assert that the school tried to conceal the incident rather than taking cognizance of it.

The survivor's father, Dev Prajapati, appealed to people in a video to join the protest against the school and also informed of his daughter being hospitalised and currently being treated for the trauma. The doctor examined & confirmed the assault, she suffered injuries in her private parts. Samta Nagar Police arrested the culprit. However, no action has been taken against the school. According to police, the incident occurred on Friday morning during school hours. The suspect allegedly lured the girl into a washroom and assaulted her.  A teacher eventually entered the washroom, rescued the girl, and sent her home without notifying the parents or authorities about the incident. A police official said, "On the insistence of mother, she revealed the sexual assault incident and later mother reported it to the police."

The survivor's parents, along with other residents, are demanding to get the school license cancelled and charges against the teacher who tried to cover the matter. Whereas schools have denied taking any responsibility for the incident, it is no longer their problem as the peon is fired, as per Prajapati.

Meanwhile, LokmatTimes tried to reach out to the school, but no response was made.
