Nashik police to inquire into complaint against Minister Anil Parab

State Transport Minister Anil Parab and some transport officials have been accused of corruption by a suspended Transport Department official at Panchavati Police Station in Nashik. The local police commissioner Deepak Pandey has directed the deputy commissioner of police (crime branch) to investigate the complaint. Gajendra Tanaji Patil, a motor vehicle inspector in Nashik, lodged the complaint at Panchavati Police Station on May 16. On May 27, Commissioner of Police Pandey ordered an inquiry and a report within five days. Although the complainant Patil did not co-operate in the inquiry, a number of serious allegations have been made in the text of the complaint. Therefore, it would not be fair to ignore the complaint, said the Commissioner of Police.

At the same time, he clarified on the basis of an order issued by the Director General of Police in 2014 that Gajendra Patil's complaint was from a case three months ago and would be investigated before filing a case. The police inspector of Panchavati police station informed the Commissioner of Police about the complaint on May 24. The nature of the complaint is state level and it includes allegations against the transport minister and some officials, so the police inspector of Panchavati police took the role of informing the city police commissioner.

What's in the complaint?

How Deputy Transport Officer Bajrang Kharmate manages statewide transfers of the transport department and details of how financial transactions have been made for this, and they are protected by Transport Minister Parab, the complaint said. The complaint mentions how much money Kharmate took from which officer for transfer / promotion. Deputy Secretary Prakash Sable is also facing charges.

To lodge a complaint and demand a CBI inquiry has now become a political fad. Patil is the suspended officer who is making allegations against all the officers and commissioners in the department. They have referred to me in connection with the complaint in the department. They demand inquiry into an anonymous letter. He went to court before being questioned by police. I have not seen this officer. I don't know about the allegations he made. - Anil Parab, Minister of Transport
